Des Hopkins Dixieland Jazzband
Featuring some of Ireland’s finest professional musicians, over the years the band have accompanied many famous international jazz artists.
Led by drummer Des Hopkins, they have had a long association with the Dublin Guinness brewery, as Ireland’s Original Guinness Jazz Band. They were sponsored by the company from 1986-2003.
Ireland’s only professional band now playing in the Traditional Dixieland style.
The Band have played at countless international Jazz festivals throughout Europe, and have been featured at every Cork Jazz festival since 1980.
Des Hopkins Dixieland Jazz Band are in constant demand for corporate events, concerts, weddings, jazz, swing and art festivals.
Presenting an amazing programme of the great music from the jazz age, ideal for dancing or listening. The band play Traditional, Dixieland, and Mainstream jazz, with flair, excitement, showmanship, superb musicianship and exciting vocals.
The personal can vary, and operate from 3 to 6 musicians. On occasions the band is augmented by some of the finest jazz musicians from both Ireland and the UK.
